A few years ago I started tracking my goals and habits, on and off. I struggled, I failed, and I can’t even tell you now what most of those goals or habits were at the time. However, more recently I decided to give Goal Tracking another try…and I’m so glad I did because it’s truly made a huge difference in my life and I know it can for you too.
You Have a Built In Accountability System
When we don’t track something or write it down, it’s easy to forget.
- Having a system in place where you regularly check in with yourself, daily, weekly, etc. this forces you to hold yourself accountable
- Find an accountability partner who wants to track their own goals.
Once You Track One Goal, You’ll Want to Track Everything
Goal Tracking is about two things: Helping You Become The BEST You and Keeping a Record of Your Life
- If you have a big goal that you are scared to say out loud, or afraid to start, start tracking today.
Your Progress Keeps You Motivated
You’ll see small, day-to-day progress that you might not otherwise notice but will help you stay motivated as you progress
- Tracking can make you more aware of your progress and give you confidence that you’re on the right track
You’re Forced to Recognize Your Strengths and Weaknesses
When you have the data in front of you, you can see where you are struggling and make the necessary adjustments to improve
- Common problems might be that your goals are no longer relevant to you, or the goal is too challenging and there’s a big barrier to start
