Productivity at any cost isn’t always great
All productivity tips are wrong and right
- It all depends on their efficacy and what’s right for an individual in a particular context
- Instead of following the tips from other people, one should have an experimental mindset to try and build a lifestyle that suits them
Week-days
During week-days, dedicate each day for a specific type of activity.
- Currently, here’s what her calendar looks like: Meeting Mondays, Thinking Tuesdays, Deepwork Wednesdays, Terrific Thursdays, Coaching Fridays, and Slow Saturdays
- Open Sundays
- Week-ends
- Slow Saturdays
- I make sure I catch up on sleep on Saturday and do home-chores to get back in shape for the next week.
- Sunday is my no-plan cheat days.
Productivity Growth Mindset
Discipline → Creativity: “Discipline leads to creativity”
- Multi-tasking is possible, multi-focussing is not
- Productivity as a habit: Build good habits and let go of bad ones
- Being aware of your own internal clock: Monitor your internal clock and monitor your own natural energy levels to find times to do your best work
- Compounding: Use compounding as an iterative way of levelling up
How do you apply this knowledge?
Read, listen to podcasts, learn from great mentors, and apply it to develop your own regime
- You’ll find out if you’re good at what you’re doing, and if there’s anything you can learn from other leaders.
